New Beginnings

I work on campus right now from 5-10 at night, which is probably the worst work schedule ever. Not only do I never see Jon because he has class all day and works during the day, but I miss out on all the fun events he plans and works so hard on. So I am interviewing with a BYU professor to be her nanny next semester for her three little kids (4, 2, and 7 months), and I REALLY hope I get it! I love kids. I also think this would be great to add to my resume when I graduate (in elementary education). I need to call her and set up an interview time, but if I get it the job would start next semester and be every week day, done by 3, and then I could actually see my husband! (Aside from the mountains of homework we do when we are actually together). So, wish me luck!!! Jon has planned pretty much the sweetest date ever for this friday, and our volleyball team has a game friday morning as well, so here's to a fantastic weekend. I need to post about my delicious sugar cookie bars that are the BEST thing you will ever taste!
Soon, I promise!

and into the kitchen

This morning wasn't my most glorious, nor my most reasonable. I woke up at the same time as Jon and said good morning, and he said, "babe, what's in your hair? oh, your retainer is stuck in your hair." Like it was no big deal. It was. It was knotted in their pretty dang good. Embarrassing. Luckily he is a sweetie and didn't make fun of me for it. I spent the morning getting mad that I couldn't find the right outfit to wear and nothing looked good today. I had huge bags under my eyes, my hair was a mess, and everything made me look fat. Jon was a good sport and kept telling me how beautiful I looked (although that was partly because he didn't want to be late for church, even though he'll tell you that's not true). We've been meaning to start a blog for a while so that all of our family and friends could actually keep updated on our lives, since we're so so busy doing school and work right now. Out of the frying pan will also be a compilation of my fabulous (hopefully) cooking and baking. I love to cook. Any recipe requiring more than 10 or 15 ingredients is the only thing worthwhile to me. I love watching people take a bite of something I've made, and having them love it. But, today is a day of catching up on homework and writing a 7 page paper due Tuesday, which I have yet to start. Happy Sunday!
